About Berger Lahr

Berger Lahr was founded in 1941 by Gerhard Berger in Lahr, Germany, initially focusing on measuring instruments, controllers, and relays. By 1972, the company made a significant breakthrough with the development of the world’s first 5-phase stepper motor, followed by the introduction of the first 3-phase stepper motor in 1993.

In 1999, Berger Lahr launched its first integrated drive, combining motor and electronics into a single unit. The company joined Schneider Electric in 2000, and by 2008, it was rebranded as Schneider Electric Motion Deutschland. This rebranding marked its full integration into Schneider Electric’s Automation and Control division, broadening its scope within the industry.
